Most of our students were out and about enjoying the great outdoors during our ‘Character Development Day’ on Thursday, 17th July.
As well as spending quality time with their peers, the aim of the day to promote our nine Key Character Qualities – positivity, empathy, virtue, courage, passion, curiosity, independence, collaboration and honour.
Our Year 7s had fab fun-filled day at Walby Farm Park. Year 8 had a ‘wheelie’ great time at Whinlatter – while some students opted to mountain bike or ‘Go Ape’, others took in the beautiful views at a gentler pace with a stroll up to Whinlatter Top.
Year 9 students enjoyed ten beautiful miles of walking and talking with friends along Hadrian’s Wall… all the way back to school.
Year 10 made the most of one of our treasured local natural features – they walked from school to Talkin Tarn and enjoyed a day of activities, which included a chilled meditation session, den building, frisbee and kayaking.
The students that stayed on site had an equally interesting day taking part in a variety of activities. A highlight of which was a visit from Pet Encounter Cumbria.
