Our international connections strengthened on Friday, 23rd May as we warmly welcomed a party of students and staff from New Taipei City in Taiwan.
Their visit to WHS was part of a two-week UK study tour.
Along with a guided tour of WHS, the Sixth Form-aged Taiwanese students shadowed members of our Sixth Form in lessons, while some of our KS3 students met the staff to answer their questions about school life.
As well as sharing Taiwanese/British connections, diplomatic gifts were exchanged with our guests as a symbol of friendship.
We are eagerly planning a series of opportunities for our students with schools in Taiwan and are working to develop a possible exchange visit in the future.
Ms Pigdon, Headteacher, said: “We were very excited to welcome the group of educators from Taiwan to our school today! It was a pleasure to give them a glimpse into our daily school life and share ideas across cultures. We hope this marks the beginning of a strong and lasting educational friendship.”
