To mark the end of their course, our Year 9 forensic scientists finished the year by making a “crime scene in a box”.
Students had to put in to practice their understanding of how evidence is generated at crime scenes and the techniques by which detectives collect and use it during investigations.
They spent time writing a short creative story about the crime, designed to be a cliffhanger and not reveal the identity of the criminal! Using their impressive artistic skills, they then built their story into a 3D model using a variety of materials (some which parents kindly donated for the whole class to use).
In the final lesson, students took part in a project fair, standing up and presenting their stories, models, and evidence to one another to work out whodunnit!
