In this last week of the academic year, two students were deemed thoroughly deserving of a Headteacher’s Award…
Henry Brown in Year 9 is an exceptional student in every aspect of school life. As well as achieving numerous awards at the achievement assembly, Henry also showed his outstanding qualities during his recent Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition, being respectful throughout. Henry knows the motto ‘leave no trace’ and always ensured litter was picked up (some of it not ours) and made sure gates were closed. He showed respect to other walkers, always saying good morning with a lovely smile. On arrival at the campsite (6.5 hours after setting off), Henry was instrumental in putting up his and another students’ tents for the night. He completed the expedition showing the utmost resilience.
During the CET Innovate competition, Henry helped drive his team forward to a third successive win for the school. Feedback from the judges was unanimous and Henry’s qualities certainly were noted. Henry should be very proud of his achievements throughout the year.
Aglaia Chebotarova in Year 9 is a star student in all aspects of school life. Her accolades at the last week’s achievement assembly were testament to this. In many of her recent assessments she demonstrated to her teachers her hunger to improve and achieved some of the highest test scores in her class. Mr Anders was extremely impressed with her physics performance, made all the more impressive as English is her second language.
Agalia demonstrates the utmost empathy towards her peers, supporting many of her friends in their learning and aspects of school life. During the Outdoor Learning course, Aglaia has shown she is a born leader, regularly putting herself forward to lead the way with her peers. She epitomises our core values and is a very worthy recipient of the Headteachers Award.
