Our Year 11 Geographers have been out of school recently collecting a variety of data in nearby Cumbrian villages. The trip focused on ‘human geography’ and pupils assessed and compared services and environmental quality at Cumwhinton, Thursby, Abbeytown and Burgh by Sands. Additionally, they carried out a vehicle and pedestrian tally at each location and completed a land use map. The fieldwork, followed by analysis, evaluation and conclusions that were formed back in the classroom will prepare them for the ‘fieldwork section’ of Paper 3 in the upcoming mocks and GCSE examinations.
