A gigantic well done to Anna and Maddie who played in the Annan Rugby U16 Hornets Team at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh, for the Girls U16 National Cup and Shield, on Sunday. They faced the Dumfries Girls in a very hard-fought match, but in the very last minutes of the game the Hornets scored, turning the tables and winning 38-34.
Maddie acknowledged, “It was a tough game, the Dumfries Girls are a really strong team.”
Anna was awarded player of the match. She said, “It was so exciting to play at Murrayfield. We had a great celebration on the bus on the way home.”
