Sixth Form student Hannah was proudly presented with the Headteacher’s Award this week. Having only joined WHS in September, she has settled in so well – not only in lessons and the Sixth Form community, but also in the many extracurricular activities she has joined such as the choir and orchestra.
Mrs Cooper acknowledged the great asset she is to the Music Department. Hannah competed and represented the school in the Carlisle & District Music and Drama festival. She also supports KS3 music lessons and sets a great example to younger students.
Hannah had the self-belief and self-motivation to enter one of her compositions in a local ‘Young Composers’ competition. She received a Highly Commended Award and as part of her prize, she will receive mentoring sessions from the composer Jen Hartley.
Hannah is always a very polite, helpful and positive young person and a joy to have around.
