We’re very grateful to Jules Wooding from Cumbria’s Museum of Military Life for coming into school today to talk to Year 9 History students about the local involvement in WW1.
She gave a fascinating talk about the recruitment of soldiers from the local area and spoke about the dreadful conditions for those fighting in WW1.
The students particularly enjoyed trying on the uniform and equipment that the soldiers were provided with and having the opportunity to handle the original and replica artefacts that Jules had brought along.
