Last Thursday, our Headteacher Ms Pigdon was honoured to attend an Outward Bound reception at St James’s Palace, London. The invitation came in recognition of our school’s growing partnership with The Outward Bound Trust and our shared passion for the power of outdoor education to transform young people’s lives.
During the evening, The Outward Bound Trust announced Prince Edward as its new Patron and Princess Beatrice as Deputy Patron. Both were in attendance along with school students who spoke passionately about life-changing opportunities through outdoor adventure and challenge. Our school’s partnership with Outward Bound continues to grow, and we are thrilled to have four residential experiences planned this academic year across a range of stunning locations — Loch Eil in the Scottish Highlands, Howtown in the Lake District, and Ogwen Cottage in North Wales. These residentials will provide students from Years 7 to 12 with opportunities to challenge themselves, build new friendships, and develop skills that last a lifetime.
Students who earned the Golden Tickets last year described their summer experiences as truly life-changing, and we are delighted to announce that Golden Tickets will once again be available soon. Keep an eye out for details about our upcoming competition — last year’s entries were nothing short of inspirational!
With more projects already in the pipeline, we are excited to see our relationship with Outward Bound continue to flourish. Together, we will keep expanding the boundaries of outdoor learning and ensuring every student has the chance to discover just what they’re capable of.
