Our Service Family students had an adventurous Monday afternoon at Talkin Adventures, building and sailing rafts on the tarn.
Working in teams, the pupils were challenged to build a raft and learn to paddle it on the water, without falling in. Clearly, they had lots of fun! One or two ended up in the water which was all part of the excitement.
It wasn’t just about learning to tie reliable knots, the students learnt about being resourceful, planning, construction, organisation, communication and trust.
Well done to the Blue team who won the final race, although the Red team had the best control over their raft. Katheryn Ancell showed the top leadership skills and Ewan Isherwood was the most enthusiastic rafter. Lucas and Teagan Halford both won the prize for being the calmest rafters under pressure.
