There was a lovely atmosphere in school on Friday, 4th July with this term’s ‘Get Cosy and Read Day’ when everyone was invited to wear comfortable clothes and enjoy getting lost in their books.
Get Cosy and Read continues to celebrate reading for pleasure, and there were plenty of enjoyable activities for students and staff to get involved in. Over 130 students applied to join in our big read ‘booknic’. Thankfully, the weather didn’t dampen spirits or enjoyment with the move indoors.
A highlight of the day was the wonderful creation of a reading tree in the foyer, with students being able to share what their favourite books are and what reading means to them – a big thank you to Mrs Giecco for bringing it beautifully to life.
We’re already planning and looking forward to next year’s Get Cosy and Read days as we continue to promote reading as something to be enjoyed as well as being a vital skill for life.
