Inspired by Billy Monger’s journey, our students played a collective part in the WHS Ironman Challenge this week for Comic Relief.
All year groups took part in the “laal loop” runs in PE and together completed 900 impressive miles – way more than their 26.2 mile target! Sixth Formers also exceeded their 112-mile target on the spin bikes in our fitness suite, almost doubling their target by completing 220 miles.
Sixth Form students and staff wore red for Red Nose Day in return for donations, and our Sixth Form prefects ran a Comic Relief quiz in tutor time, a bake sale, and Just Dance challenge during break times.
The total raised in school was £214.65. This will be added to the funds raised by our staff in their Ironman Challenge on Saturday, 22nd March. https://www.justgiving.com/page/whs-staff-ironman-relay
Members of the staff team talked about their challenge to Stephanie Finnon on Radio Cumbria https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p0kth8ms (23.55 minutes in).
