The Headteacher’s Award this week goes Year 9 student Elliot. Elliot is an exceptional student who excels in his lessons, consistently demonstrating politeness and a maturity beyond his years.
Last week, he proudly represented our school in the Carlisle District Cross Country competition. The race was highly competitive, and Elliot battled hard for second place. However, in the final 200 meters, the race leader accidentally took a wrong turn. In an incredible show of sportsmanship, Elliot finished second after a sprint to the finish but selflessly gave up his position to the race leader, recognising that the RRMA student deserved the win outright. This act of fairness and integrity speaks volumes about Elliot’s character.
Beyond this outstanding event, Elliot is a star student in every sense. Hardworking, polite and eager to be the best he can be, he is always willing to take on new challenges to better himself. He regularly attends Mountain Runners and contributes to the success of Sports Leaders, showcasing his dedication to both personal development and supporting others.
Elliot is truly an inspiration and a credit to our school community.
