Cross Country
A group of our Year 7 and 8 cross country runners had an amazing experience on Wednesday when they took part in the annual Rawthey Run at Sedbergh School.
Over 40 schools from all over the Northwest took part in boys and girls races in U11 and U13 categories. With over 600 runners, this was by far the biggest event we have ever taken part in! The event started with a ‘Parade of Runners’, who were led around the field by bagpipes.
The course was challenging, very muddy and hilly. It even contained a water jump that the runners had to go over twice.
Charlotte and Blake were our highest placed runners in their races, and Blake and Mia also had the opportunity to run in a relay team with pupils from other schools.
As usual, the WHS runners showed excellent grit, determination and resilience. We are so proud of their efforts and the way they represented the school, a huge well done to all!
