Spring has sprung in our Open Spaces and we’re delighted to welcome lots of new arrivals to our growing animal family! This year, our new Open Spaces lambs’ names all begin with the letter G – we have George, Greta, Gertrude, Grace and Gary. Deputy Headteacher Mr (Gary) Trewhitt was very pleased to meet his woolly namesake, Gary the lamb!
A brand‑new polytunnel has arrived too, ready to burst into life with spring planting. This fantastic new addition replaces the old structure and is thanks to the incredible fundraising efforts of our Open Spaces Lead, Ms Booker, who worked tirelessly to make it happen over the Easter holidays.
It’s an exciting and action‑packed time for the Open Spaces team, with lambing and preparations for the growing season, alongside the daily care of our animals. Thankfully, we have a brilliant team of enthusiastic, outdoor‑loving students who are more than happy to roll up their sleeves and muck in!
