Year 10 student Katie was awarded this week’s Headteacher’s Award. Katie consistently demonstrates our three core values, but last week was a shining example of her exceptional character. Katie showed incredible responsibility by actively supporting the Year 5 Experience the Exceptional Evening. She gave her time and energy selflessly, ensuring the younger students felt welcome, supported and inspired. Her mature approach and willingness to help others reflect the kind of leadership we hope to see in all our students.
Katie treats every member of our school community with the utmost respect. Her interactions with staff and fellow students are always thoughtful, polite and inclusive. She listens with empathy, responds with kindness, and sets a strong example for those around her.
In addition, her resilience has been nothing short of outstanding. Completing all 30 miles of the Hadrian’s Wall charity run is an achievement in itself, doing so with determination and without complaint speaks volumes about her inner strength and commitment.
These values are not just moments of excellence they are a consistent part of who she is. Her high number of House Points reflects her positive contribution in every lesson. Whether in or out of the classroom, she works quietly, conscientiously, and with a level of dedication that inspires those around her.
Katie is a credit to herself and our school community. She exemplifies what it means to live our values.
