Dear Parent
We have long awaited the start of the sunny weather. With the forecast indicating that the temperature is set to increase over the next week or so I just wanted to highlight a couple of changes in terms of expectations regarding students’ uniform. Students gave us good feedback last year and we have listened and adjusted uniform expectations as a result.
To ensure that students are comfortable in school in the warmer weather reasonable adjustments can be made to their uniform as of today.
- Students can remove their school jumper and wear their shirt, tie and blazer.
- Students can wear their shirt, tie and jumper without their blazer.
- Students can order a pair of school approved tailored shorts from our uniform supplier to
wear for the remainder of this term (please see further information below).
Should students choose to wear their jumper without their blazer then there is no need for students to carry their blazer with them throughout the day – it can be left at home. It goes without saying that high standards of uniform are still a priority, and all other aspects of uniform will still be monitored by House Tutors daily. Students are expected to look smart at all times and take pride in their presentation – this means wearing their tie and their shirt tucked in.
Tailored School Shorts
As an alternative to the current uniform trousers/skirt, students are permitted to wear the new school supplied tailored shorts only for the remainder of this term. Shorts are not permitted to be worn other than in the summer term. We hope students welcome this change to the uniform policy and work with us to uphold high standards of presentation and dress.
An order form and size guide are below for those who wish to order tailored grey Bermuda shorts. Please note that orders need to be received with payment (£17.50 each) by Monday, 13th May so that we may place a single order with our supplier at the earliest opportunity in the hope of receiving these before the half term holiday. An order form must be completed to confirm size, even if paying via ParentPay.
We know that the majority of students carry their standards cards in their blazer pocket. Students must ensure that they still have their standards card at all times. All other equipment including pens, pencils, ruler, planner, homework, books and PE kit must also be brought to school each day in a school bag. As always, we would appreciate your ongoing support in ensuring that your child adheres to the above during the warmer days/weeks.
Yours sincerely
