We are very proud to announce that our Learning Support Team Leader, Nicola Grogan, was chosen as this year’s Outstanding Apprenticeship Mentor award winner by training provider System People, during National Apprenticeship Week.
System People’s Teaching Assistant tutor, Shirelle Van Aarle, nominated Nicola for the award. She described Nicola as “an exceptional mentor who consistently places her apprentices at the centre of everything she does.” Her commitment to apprentice development, wellbeing and progression, alongside her strong communication and close working relationship with tutors, really stood out.
It was also noted that Nicola’s “consistent encouragement, guidance and advocacy” has a significant positive impact on apprentice progress, and that she creates a safe and supportive space where apprentices feel valued, confident and motivated.
On Monday, Shirelle popped into school to deliver Nicola’s award in person.
Assistant Headteacher and SENCO, Miss Carruthers said “The Learning Provision Department, and indeed the whole school, are really proud of Nicola.”
