Year 7 students enjoyed a special House Day today, when their new Houses were revealed in a Hogwarts-style ‘sorting hat ceremony’.
Once it was established which House they belonged to – Eden, Talkin, Gelt or Vindolanda – the Year Group spent the rest of the day competing in challenges to gain points for their new House teams. Activities included problem-solving, creative writing, a house quiz, a geography quiz, House logo biscuit icing, and dancing.
The day was rounded off with the most enthusiastic sing-along our House of Heads had ever witnessed, before the winning House of the day was announced. Congratulations to Talkin House who won the Day’s trophy, only just beating Vindolanda House by 9 points.
A big thank you to our Sixth Form Student Heads of House and the Year 9 Sports Leaders for their help with the day.
Mrs Hill (Associate Assistant Headteacher and Student Participation Lead) said, “The students embraced the day with great enthusiasm. We hope they now have a sense of belonging to their House Teams and are filled with determination to earn House Points, with the collective aim of being the best they can be and winning this year’s House trophy.”
