In an incredibly important and thought-provoking session for our Sixth Form students, members of Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service from Carlisle West Fire Station visited school today to deliver a powerful road safety awareness presentation. Aimed at new and learner drivers, the presentation highlighted the very real dangers faced on our roads and the potentially devastating consequences that road traffic collisions can have on drivers, passengers, families and the wider community.
Particular emphasis was placed on the dangers of using a mobile phone while driving. Students were encouraged to consider how a moment’s distraction can have life-changing consequences, reinforcing the importance of responsible and attentive driving. The hard-hitting messages shared by the firefighters served as a timely reminder of the responsibility that comes with being behind the wheel.
We are grateful to the team from Cumbria Fire & Rescue Service for taking the time to share their experiences and deliver such an impactful and memorable presentation.
