Our A Level Product Design students gained real inspiration on Tuesday, through an ‘Architecture Day’. Guided by three visiting architects – Ivy Edemafaka (RIBA, London), Katherine Mellor (TACP Architects), and Bob O’Neil (O’Neil Architects) – the event was a resounding success.
Students tackled the “Shelter” challenge, designing, modelling, and presenting innovative shelter ideas that could be built on site. This hands-on experience allowed them to explore architectural concepts and bring their visions to life. Ivy, Katherine, and Bob provided valuable insights and feedback throughout the day, inspiring students to think critically and creatively about their designs.
Teacher, Mrs Dixon said, “There was tangiblel excitement as students collaborated, shared ideas, and learned from each other. The day showcased their talents and highlighted the importance of teamwork and innovation in architecture.Their enthusiasm and dedication were truly commendable.”
Career information and guidance on becoming an architect was provided too, including advice on architecture programs, portfolio preparation, and various career paths in the field.
We are incredibly proud of our students for their hard work and creativity, and are very grateful to Ivy, Katherine, and Bob for their invaluable contributions, and to everyone who made this day possible. We look forward to seeing the amazing things our students will achieve in the future!
