As an antidote to ‘Blue Monday’ – the third Monday of January dubbed to be the saddest day of the year – we held a ‘Random Acts of Kindness Day’ to spread some joy in school.
Staff and students were encouraged to complete RAK pledge cards, which were then posted into the pledge box in reception once their act of kindness had been carried out. Our Prefect Team handed out spot prizes to students who had undertaken their kind gesture. Well done to:
- Caleb (Year 7) – for helping Mrs Hope hand out books during his Spanish lesson.
- Daisy (Year 8) – for kindly holding a door open for a member of staff.
- Dan (Year 9) – for helping to clean and tidy the Year 9 common room.
- Ellie (Year 11) – for spending the day showing kindness to others.
- Shaun (Year 12) – a goalkeeper for Queen of the South football team, whose RAK involved allowing KS3 students to take penalties against him.
Thank you to all staff and students who took part and helped spread a little sunshine throughout the school.
