Results Days 2025
- A/AS Level and BTEC Level 3 – Thursday, 14 August
- GCSE, Level 2 BTEC and BTEC Tech Awards – Thursday, 21 August
On these days, school will be open at 8.00am for students to collect their results from the lecture theatre, before moving into the performance hall where we will have refreshments and pastries for students, families and staff. Please access school via the ramp to the lecture theatre.
After 11am, collection of certificates will be via the front door (please ring the door bell). We will be open until 2pm.
If you are unable to collect your results during these times and you wish for someone else to collect them for you, please make sure that you give that person a letter of confirmation. In the letter you must state the name of the person collecting your examination results, your name and candidate number, and you must sign and date the letter. The nominated third party must also bring in some form of ID when they collect the results envelope. This applies whether you wish for a parent/carer, friend or relative to collect your results. We are unable to release results to anyone other than students without this.
If you wish to receive them by email, please contact the school Exams Officer, Mrs Muldoon, at lmuldoon@williamhoward.cumbria.sch.uk. Results will be emailed to students requesting this method at 4pm.
Examination results cannot be released over the telephone under any circumstances.
As always, our pastoral staff, teachers and Inspira will be on hand to answer any questions you may have about your results and offer any assistance and support. On A Level results day, support will be available from the Sixth Form team throughout the day for next step and UCAS queries.
What will I receive on Results Day?
The Exam Board(s) ‘Candidate Statement of Provision Results’ which will detail your mark and grade. Result sheets issued on Results Days are provisional results.
Why does it say my result is ‘provisional’?
Exam Boards report all results on a provisional basis until the Appeal’s deadline has passed and all appeals have been concluded. The final confirmed result will be shown on your Certificate.
When will I get my Certificate?
Certificates are not posted home because Exam Boards do not replace certificates lost in the post. If certificates were not collected at the Presentation Evening in January, they can be collected from school. If possible, please call or email school to request your certificates in advance, so they will ready for collection.
