Last week we held our first ever primary school cluster inclusive sports event at William Howard School. With visible excitement, children from twelve primary schools in various year groups gathered in our sports hall.
Our enthusiastic Year 8 Sports Leaders and members of our ‘Team Inspire’ led the morning, introducing the young children to a range of different inclusive sports that we play at William Howard. They played in teams, mixing with children from other schools, and rotated around six stations, playing boccia and various boccia-related games, table cricket, new age kurling and a target throw activity.
The children had a wonderful morning. There were smiles all round and lots of cheering. The morning was a real success with primary school staff saying they would like to have kurling and boccia sets for their schools. We decided that this would be an event we would definitely hold again.
Well done to all the children who took part and to all our leaders who were once again a real credit to our school.
