Year 7 student Caris was nominated to receive a Headteacher’s Award this week. She is an incredibly committed student, who always embodies the core values of WHS. It seems that Caris is on a one-woman mission to achieve as many House points for her Form Group as possible – she had a new Standards Card in Form Time last Tuesday then returned it to Mrs Sanderson the next morning, fully complete. This follows her completing Standards Cards consistently every week prior to Easter.
Caris has been involved in our DADA performances and has recently completed the LAMDA Acting grade 3 examination, as well as competing at the Carlisle Music & Drama Festival. Outside of school she has completed her Level 1 Award in Grade 2 Classical Ballet.
For a recent History project, she produced an exceptional model of a castle which took her 4 hours!
Caris has 100% attendance and currently holds 1404 house points.
Beyond academic achievement, Caris has shown real kindness, helping someone in need at the start of the year by befriending a girl in her Form and taking her under her wing.
Her Form Tutor, Mrs Sanderson, commented: “Caris is truly an amazing student, and her efforts should definitely be recognised.”
