Iona Elder was presented with this week’s Headteacher’s Award for her outstanding attitude in trying to better herself.
Recently, Iona asked her Spanish teacher if she could sit the Higher paper rather than Foundation, as she’d decided she may want to pursue the language at A Level. Iona completed multiple papers in her own time after school to prove she was capable. She attended tutoring with Mrs Greig and accepted all opportunities for help – staying behind to really try to ‘catch up’ to the higher level.
Mrs O’Connor said, “Iona came to her speaking exam and blew me away with how much she had learnt and the high level she has achieved off her own bat. Such a fantastic girl – the epitome of motivation and improvement.”
