This week’s Headteacher’s Award goes to Okiemute, a Year 11 student who has demonstrated remarkable drive and focus from the very beginning this year. He consistently takes responsibility for his learning, going above and beyond to make the most of the opportunities provided. Okiemute shows great resilience when working independently, seeking out support and clarification when needed and applying this to his work.
This strength of character is matched by his consistent diligence — his exercise books are always well organised, homework is never missed, and he actively seeks challenge through thoughtful questioning and engagement in lessons.
Beyond the classroom, he is a talented musician and enthusiastic sportsman. Okiemute brings joy to the year group – a great friend, a support to other students and a young man with a great sense of humour and energy. He is always respectful towards every member of the student community and is a positive role model to other students.
Okiemute exemplifies the William Howard values of Respect, Responsibility and Resilience in all he does.
