In the final week of the half-term, Louise Ackerley in Year 7 is the deserving winner of the Headteacher’s Award.
During 8 weeks, Louise has accumulated 287 House Points for her exceptional progress in the classroom and her outstanding commitment to PE and Sport. Her teachers describe her as an excellent role model and the nicest, politest student.
Louise has fully embraced extra-curricular activities; last week alone, she ran in the Year 8 Cumbria Cross Country at Penrith and came 10th against students a year older. Louise then played netball for the school team on Thursday, when she was, by all accounts, brilliant and contributed to the team’s 7-2 success. She went back to Frenchfields in Penrith again on Friday for the Year 7 Cumbria Cross Country, supporting all of the other Year 7s who were feeling anxious and nervous, showing them the course and giving them top tips. This time she came 7th and has been selected for the next round in the midlands in November.
Louise has not only fully embraced life at William Howard in her brief time here, but she has already made significant contributions to our school community. She exemplifies each of our core values and stands out as an exceptional student who consistently strives for excellence, while encouraging and inspiring the same in those around her.
