Ms Pigdon proudly presented the Headteacher’s Award this week to Year 12 Student Brooke. Since joining our Sixth Form in September, Brooke has quickly become a valued member of our school community. She is a positive, mature, and kind-natured student who approaches everything she does with dedication and quiet determination.
Last weekend, Brooke had the incredible honour of serving as a Standard Bearer for the Royal British Legion at the Festival of Remembrance at the Royal Albert Hall — a prestigious national event attended by members of the Royal Family, senior military figures, and veterans, and broadcast to millions across the country. Taking part in such a poignant and significant occasion is an outstanding achievement. True to her character, Brooke carried out her role with dignity and humility, showing great respect for the importance of the event and those it commemorates.
Brooke commented: “It has been a great honour to be able to experience such an amazing event in person, through supporting those who fought for us, those who are still serving, and remembering those who lost their lives for us. The Royal British Legion is a charity which supports ex-service and service personnel as well as their families, a charity which more people should have awareness of.”
