Two outstanding students were chosen to receive a Headteacher’s Award this week.
Firstly, Isabella in Year 7 has already proved to be an exceptional student who consistently demonstrates outstanding effort, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude across all areas of school life. Academically, she excels in multiple subjects, including Maths, Geography, PE, Languages, English and PD, frequently earning “Learner of the Lesson” awards and completing GAT activities ahead of her peers. Isabella approaches every task with conscientiousness, attention to detail, and a genuine desire to understand topics in depth, setting a high standard for others. Beyond academics, she is kind, respectful, and supportive, contributing positively in Form Time, in the Common Room, and during group activities. She is a proactive, helpful student who works well with peers, participates enthusiastically in extracurricular activities such as Crochet Club and cross-country trials, and consistently demonstrates perseverance, responsibility, and reliability.
Teachers across the school describe her as amazing, a delight, a superstar, and Headteacher’s Award material. Isabella’s combination of academic excellence, exemplary behaviour, and positive presence makes her a truly deserving candidate for the Headteacher’s Award.
Year 11 student Iona was awarded for her outstanding resilience, courage and determination. During a recent residential and despite her initial fears of water and heights, she pushed herself to the limit and succeeded brilliantly in both the rock jumps and the abseil—managing to laugh throughout the experience. Beyond the activities, Iona consistently offered to help others, tidied up after staff, and was friendly and supportive towards students from all Year Groups. She displayed the attitude and character we aspire to see in all of our students, never complaining and always giving her best.
In school, she works exceptionally hard and always takes the time to stop for a discussion with others. Iona demonstrates our 3 Rs in everything she does and is very much a worthy recipient of this award.
