Our Year 7 students took part in an engaging and inspiring workshop delivered by Wordsworth House today. During the session, students explored the lives and work of William and Dorothy Wordsworth, gaining valuable insight into the people behind some of Britain’s most celebrated poetry. They also had the unique opportunity to analyse original manuscript reproductions, developing their understanding of the writing and editing process.
Drawing inspiration from the Romantic poets, students then reflected on their own experiences of the natural world, creating original images and crafting poetic descriptions based on their favourite outdoor places and interests. The workshop encouraged creativity, close literary analysis, and an appreciation of how personal experiences can inspire powerful writing.
