The Football season was kicked off with a good start for our girls teams this week. The U14 team beat Richard Rose Central Academy on Tuesday in the first round of the English Schools cup.
The girls displayed great teamwork, together creating a lot of opportunities. After going 1-0 up, RRCA equalised after many attempts on goal. But in the second half WHS managed to score the winner putting them through to round 2.
Then on Thursday, the U13 girls beat Caldew 4-1 in a friendly fixture. The game was a great chance for the team to gel and get ready for some up-and-coming fixtures in various competitions.
Their coach, Mrs Beaumont, said “Well done to all the girls involved, it’s great to see so many enjoying football and displaying such high levels of skill.”
