Our Year 10 boys football team played the first of their two semi-finals on Tuesday.
Playing a very good team from Cockermouth, the boys started slowly and conceded first going into half time 1-0 down. After some reflection at half time, they came out and scored in the first minutes of the 2nd half, with a long-range strike from Ben Williamson who lobbed the keeper. 1-1. The boys began to turn the tide and later in the half scored two in quick succession with Will Rafferty scoring both. This means they are now in to the County Cup final and play Trinity or QES next week at the Sheepmount. They are hopeful of becoming County champs for the 3rd year in a row.
On Thursday 25th April, the boys are playing their City Cup semi-final against Caldew. If they win, they will progress to the final at Carlisle United’s Brunton Park on 29th April.
