Mrs Twentyman’s Year 8 Design Technology class have been ‘tinkering’ with a piece of software that allows them to design, build and test electronic circuits, virtually.
Tinkercad is a free web app for 3D design, electronics and coding. The students have been tackling the Tinkercard Sensors Challenge in which they can explore the fascinating world of sensors by integrating them into their Tinkercad Circuits projects. It allows them to create a system that responds to touch, light, temperature, or motion, transforming simple circuits into intelligent, responsive creations.
The students have grasped the challenge to incorporate at least one sensor (Photoresistor, Soil Moisture Sensor, Ultrasonic Distance Sensor, PIR Sensor, or Temperature Sensor) into their circuit design, which they can then submit to the competition online.
